Cross training

I'm looking for tips on cross training.

Several people have told me weight training is important. Coach Kathy even sent an e-mail with three reasons everyone in the training program should look at weight training:
1. Muscle burns more calories.
2. Strong muscles reduce the potential for injury.
3. Strength training can help you run faster, longer and more efficiently.

So I'm trying to get into a routine. Looking for tips or suggestions.

    Running hills also works to build strength. In the summer and fall a number of us met on Monday evenings to do hill workouts. We will start that up again soon, but I wanted to wait until it gets a little warmer. You would be welcome to join us once we get started.
